Pathfinder PC BIOS Configuration – 5X00

If the BIOS information on the Pathfinder PC gets corrupted, it may be necessary to re-configure the BIOS. AMS Controls has developed the following step-by-step procedure to correct this issue.

Enter Bios Setup

1. Turn off the Pathfinder PC.

2. Connect a USB keyboard into one of the three USB ports on the back of the PC.

3. Press and hold [Delete] on the keyboard.

4. Turn on the Pathfinder PC.

5. Continue holding [Delete] until the Phoenix – AwardBIOS CMOS Setup Utility window appears on the PC display (Shown in Figure 1).

Setup Current Date and Time

1. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight Standard CMOS Features (Shown in Figure 1). Note: This will be the default selection.

2. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

3. The Standard CMOS Features window will open (Shown in Figure 2)

4. Use the arrow keys to highlight the month in the Date field. Note: This will be the default selection

5. Using the [+] and [–] keys on the keyboard, change the month.

6. Use the number keys on the keyboard to change the date and year.

7. Highlight the hour in the Time field.

8. Use the number keys on the keyboard to change the hour.  Note: Use 24-hour military time to set the hour (ex: 1 pm = 13).

9. Use the number keys on the keyboard to change the minute.

Setup Drive A

1. Use the arrow key to highlight the Drive A field.

2. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

3. The Drive A window will open (shown in Figure 3).

4 Use the arrow keys to select None.

5. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

6. Press [Esc] on the keyboard.

7. The Phoenix – AwardBIOS CMOS Setup Utility window will open.

Setup Display

1. Use the arrow keys to highlight Advanced Chipset Features.

2. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

3. The Advanced Chipset Features window will open.

4. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Video Memory Size field.

5. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

6. The Video Memory Size window will open (shown in Figure 4).

7. Use the arrow keys to select 32 M.

8. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

9. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Flat Panel Configuration field.

10. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

11. The Flat Panel Configuration window will open (shown in Figure 5).

12. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Flat Panel Type field.

13. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

14. The Flat Panel Type window will open (shown in Figure 6).

15. Use the arrow keys to select LVDS.

16. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

17. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Resolution field.

18. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

19. The Resolution window will open (shown in Figure 7).

20. Use the arrow keys to select 1024 X 768.

21. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

22. Press [F10] on the keyboard.

23. The SAVE to CMOS and EXIT (Y/N)? will open and Y will be flashing (shown in Figure 8).

24. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.

25. The PC will restart and go to windows.

26. This completes the BIOS Configuration.
