Pathfinder PC BIOS Configuration – 6X00

Enter Bios Setup

  1. Connect a USB keyboard into one of the three USB ports on the back of the PC.
  2. Press and hold [Delete] on the keyboard.
  3. Turn ON the Pathfinder PC.
  4. Continue holding [Delete] until the Phoenix – AwardBIOS CMOS Setup Utility window appears on the PC display (shown in Figure 1).

Setup Current Date and Time

  1. Highlight Standard CMOS Features (shown in Figure 2).

  • NOTE: This will be the default selection.
  1. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.
  2. The Standard CMOS Features window will open (shown in Figure 3)

  1. Use the arrow keys to highlight the month in the Date
  • NOTE: This will be the default selection
  1. Using the [+] and [–] keys on the keyboard, change the month.
  2. Use the number keys on the keyboard to change the date and year.
  3. Highlight the hour in the Time
  4. Use the number keys on the keyboard to change the hour.
  • NOTE: Use 24-hour military time to set the hour (ex: 1 pm = 13).
  1. Use the number keys on the keyboard to change the minute.
  2. Verify Video is set to [EGA/VGA] (shown in Figure 4).

  1. Verify Halt On is set to [All, But Keyboard] (shown in Figure 5).

  • NOTE: If any on the settings need to be changed; press Enter on the keyboard. Arrow up or down to the correct setting. Select Enter to save the changes.
  1. Once settings are correct, select Esc on keyboard to exit out of Setup Utility screen.

Setup Advanced Chipset Features

  1. Use the arrow key to highlight the Advanced Chipset Features (shown in Figure 6).

  1. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.
  2. The Advanced Chipset Features window will open (shown in Figure 7).

  1. Verify On-Chip Frame Buffer Size is [8MB] (shown in Figure 8).

  1. Verify DVMT Mode is [DVMT] (shown in Figure 9).

  1. Boot Display [CRT+LFP1] (shown in Figure 11).

  1. Press [Esc] on the keyboard.
  2. Press [F10] on keyboard.
  3. The SAVE to CMOS and EXIT (Y/N)? screen will open; Y will be flashing (shown in Figure 13).

  1. Press [Enter] on the keyboard.
  2. The PC will restart and go to windows.
  3. This completes the BIOS Configuration.
